Henry van der Sloot, CA, CFA

Executive Chairman

Henry is a founder and the Executive Chairman of the board of directors for Strad Energy Services. In addition, he is currently an advisory board member of Network Capital Limited Partnerships and a board member of several private and non-profit enterprises. Henry is a past CEO of Banff Caribou Properties Ltd. and Managing Director of Network Capital Inc.

Henry is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Financial Analyst and is an alumni of the Harvard Business School.

Prior to becoming a businessman, Henry was a concert cellist. He completed his music studies at the Juilliard School of Music in New York and has performed extensively throughout Canada, the US, Europe and Russia.

John A. Hagg, MBA

Chair, Corporate Governance Committee

Mr. Hagg is the Chairman of Clark Builders and a director of The Fraser Institute. Mr. Hagg was the co-founder in 1977 of Canadian Northstar Corporation, a diversified public energy company. He became Chairman and CEO of Northstar Energy in 1985, and the company grew to become one of Canada's top petroleum and natural gas producers. In 1998, Northstar merged with Devon Energy Corporation of Oklahoma City, in a $2.0 billion transaction. Mr. Hagg joined Devon’s Board of Directors, in addition to his continuing role as Chairman of Northstar until retiring in 2001.

Mr. Hagg has been a director of numerous community and professional organizations including the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Alberta Theatre Projects. In 1997, he chaired the Canadian Investment Dealers Association National Committee on Conflicts of Interest. He was a member of the Advisory Council of the University of Calgary's Faculty of Management and on the Honorary Council of the Petroleum Communication Foundation. John was a long time member of the Young Presidents' Organization and, in 1998, joined the Chief Executives Organization.

Barry R. Giovanetto, CA

Chair, Audit Committee

Mr. Giovanetto is the President of RayQuest Holdings Ltd., a private investment and venture capital company. He has over 30 years experience in private venture capital financing and has been involved in over 25 company start-ups.

From 1977 until 1989, Mr. Giovanetto was Vice President of Finance of Petroventures Resources Ltd., and President from 1989 to 1994. Barry was also the President and CEO of Questar Resources Corporation, a public company that he founded in 1993 and then sold in 1998. Mr. Giovanetto is a Board member of numerous private companies. He is active in a variety of industry-related organizations and activities. Mr. Giovanetto qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand where he practiced for seven years in both Canada and the United States. Mr. Giovanetto is also on the board of the Calgary Petroleum Club.

Jack H. Nodwell, BSc

Chair, Human Resources Committee

Mr. Nodwell graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Alberta in 1964. He immediately formed a new company and developed its first product, a large off-road vehicle. As the former President and Chairman of Foremost Industries Inc., he has 40 years experience as an entrepreneur and CEO of a large equipment manufacturing company. Over the years Foremost became known for its large innovative products, its exports to many countries, particularly the Soviet Union, and its support of customers. Foremost became public in 1971 and over time, expanded its business with several diversifications, including oil production and oil field services; Foremost also developed a range of large drilling rigs and related products for the oil and gas, water well, construction and environmental industries.

Mr. Nodwell has been a director of several public company boards and associations, including: Foremost Industries Inc.; Sheritt - Gordon Ltd.; Vencap Equities Alberta Ltd.; Advanced Process Systems (formerly Maloney Industries Ltd.); Enterprise Development Board (Industry Canada); Alberta Research Council; President of Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta, Chairman of the Alberta Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization, and Chairman of the Alberta Chapter of the World Presidents Organization.

Mr. Nodwell was awarded the Premier of Alberta’s International Marketing Award, for continuous outstanding achievement in international marketing in 1985; the Pinnacle Award issued by Fraser Milner Casgrain and The Calgary Herald for entrepreneurial achievement in times of adversity in 1988; the Award for Excellence in International Business from the University of Calgary in 1992; and in 1995 the John C. Sproule Memorial Award, from the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, in recognition of technological advancements and business leadership in assisting exploration and development of petroleum resources in Canada’s northern frontier.

Robert G. Puchniak, CFA

Director

Mr. Puchniak holds a B.Comm. (Honours) from the University of Manitoba and was awarded the University Gold Medal for his achievements. He earned a Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1975.

Mr. Puchniak has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of James Richardson & Sons, Limited since March 2001 and prior thereto, was Vice President, Finance and Investment with James Richardson & Sons, Limited since November 1996. Mr. Puchniak was President and Chief Executive Officer of Tundra Oil & Gas Limited, a private oil and gas corporation, from January 1989 to April 2003 and has been Chairman since that time.

Mr. Puchniak is a director of a number of corporations including Richardson International Limited, Tundra Oil & Gas Limited, Lombard Realty Limited, Strad Energy Services Ltd. and OptiSolar Inc. He also Chairs the Finance Committee of CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Inc. and is a member of the Investment Committee of The Winnipeg Foundation.

His past involvements include Director, OPTI Canada Inc., Value Creation Inc., Western Oil Sands Inc., Petrobank Energy and Resources Ltd., Trident Resources Corp., Moffat Communications Limited and Richland Petroleum Corporation; Chairman, Manitoba Teachers’ Retirement Fund; Chairman, Council of Examiners, Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts; and President, Winnipeg Society of Financial Analysts.

Andy Pernal, CA

Chief Executive Officer and President

Andy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of senior financial experience in private and public companies. In June 2012, Andy succeeded Henry van der Sloot into the role of Chief Executive Officer. He started with Strad in 2006 as the Chief Financial Officer until the spring of 2009 when he was promoted to the position of President of Strad Energy Services and became a member of the Strad board.

Prior to joining Strad, Andy held positions as Chief Financial Officer of Stone Creek Properties and Chief Financial Officer of Craig Media. He spent 8 years with Moffat Communications in Winnipeg in various senior financial capacities including Chief Financial Officer prior to its sale to Shaw Communications in 2001. Andy was also Vice President, Finance of MTS Communications (Manitoba Telecom’s largest operating subsidiary). Prior to his experience in industry, Andy spent 9 years in public accounting primarily with Deloitte & Touche in Winnipeg.

Andy has also been involved with various community and charitable organizations including Christ the King School in Winnipeg, Western Canada Aviation Museum and the Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba. Currently, Andy is Chairman of the board of Clear Water Academy, a private school in Calgary.

Rob Grandfield

Chief Operating Officer

Rob is a founder, director and COO of Strad Energy Services and has spent the past 30 years in various energy service operations. Prior to starting Strad, Rob was a co-founder and COO of Jiro Oilfield Supply Ltd. and following that he was the co-founder and President of Jiro Manufacturing and Compression. In 1999, Jiro sold to Enhanced Energy Services and Rob served as COO and Director and then continued on in the role of Vice President of Compression when the company sold to Enerflex. During this period from 1988 – 2002, the annual company sales grew from 2 million to over 250 million.

In 2003, Rob was a co-founder and a Board Member of Root Exploration Ltd. until the company sold to Scollard Energy Inc. in 2006. Rob is active in a variety of private investment companies and private real estate investment companies. In addition to this he has also been a director of several local community organizations.
